Bring the water in the džezva to a boil, remove from the heat, add a teaspoon of coffee per cup and stir. Return to low heat until the foam rises, then immediately remove from the heat. Let it settle for a moment before pouring.

Traditionally with a sugar cube or a piece of Turkish delight. Take your time — Balkan coffee is not a drink to be consumed while standing.
